Suffolk shooter
Well today has been a great day. Firstly I and a couple of others had the meeting with the Estate Manager on taking over the lease for the syndicate from the Ex Shoot captain, and all went well to the point where the Owner is writing to him tonight to say he isn't getting the lease renewed. (Will put more detailed post on shortly, once written confirmation received). Then I get back to work and recieve email from MC saying he had spoken to a particular landowner and we've got permission closer to home (Well for me anyway) to shoot pigeons on his land. All we have to do is arrange with the Game keeper, before we turn up. Chance of beating methinks as well, if we keep on his good side, anything to help the keeper out. It just doesn't get any better than that really. Just need to check that the area in question is actually outside the exclusion zone now before our first venture out. Edit: - just checked on the DEFRA website and we are indeed out of the Protection/Surveillance/Restricted Zone for the "Bird Flu Crisis" SS

Suffolk shooter
Next Saturday MC and Me are off to shoot our new permission. It was supposed to be just a quick and polite meeting to introduce ourselves properly and meet the Gamekeeper as well as to familarise ourselves with the Land and poss flightlines. MC phoned the Owner up and he said meet at 9.am and he'll introduce the keeper and then let us get on with it. Me thinks I'll take a nice bottle of Red for him and the Keeper, to keep them happy and then we'll see how it goes. Looking forward to it though as should get plenty of practise after the PW meet at Lakenheath and hopefully if I can sort out the wires and battery(s) for the Magnet MC got made for me, then I give that a try as well. Just want slightly better weather than the last couple of days in terms of rain, not worried about the wind, as this can only be of help. I'll post the results on here afterwards.
