NickB65
Well I was out again straight from work arriving at the farm a little earlier around 6pm. Straight away I could see there was a lot less activity in the air and nothing on the ground. I watched for a few minutes and those that were flying were hitting the same spots so I decided to set-up on the same hedge but this time on the left not right of the gap that split the hedge. It was a lot windier but I set-up with the same hide and with the same decoys - wobbly half shells, FUDS two bouncers and some full bodies. The first customers were feral pigeons which dropped to one shot each. They came from the far left and came straight for the decoys with the wind behind them and then flared into the pattern and then dropped. A few doves joined the decoys but these are so tiny and small I left them and seemed to be happy sat amongst the decoys. Not long after two woodies mooched into the pattern very wary and from the right. Both barrels but neither dropped - as soon as I stood to take the shot they arched their wings and the wind took them away like little rockets and they jinked left and right just to make it double hard. Maybe I stood a little early so the next bird in I waited and one well into the pattern I stood and dispatched him with one shot. The next few birds were just too cautious coming ion the pattern and before I could drove they would fly off fast and low. Some came from behind and others to the right but all with caution. I think I will leave this area alone for a few days and try my luck in some of the other fields I have. For two hours I had three woodies, five feral and one dove for 15 shots. Still a great way to spend two hours :-)
