Olliesims
My uncle is looking at selling a few bits and pieces in the next couple of weeks, he has no idea how much these things are worth and I don't either, he has a BSA no8 sight, Parker hale 6 hole eye piece and a few other pieces, does anyone have an idea how much the BSA or Parker hale sights are worth? Cheers
JJsDad
Without a photo I can only assume you are refering to the Parker Hale sight that was made for the .22in No: 8 Rifle. Condition is eveything with these old target sights as after a lot of use they tend to get a lot of backlash in the threads. The popular version is the type that fits the No: 1 or No: 4 actions as they are still used for competitive shooting and go for £50 to £60 upwards on eBay. The version for the No: 8 is only graduated to around 100 yrds and as the rifle just doesnt compare with modern competition rifles the demand for the sight is less. However, there are collectors out there who seem to buy this stuff, i would stick it eBay with, say, a start figure of £20 and see what interest it raises. You may be pleasantly surprised. JJsDad
Yes, my error. Its a No: 8 sight; not a sight for a No: 8 Rifle. Still sellable. John Knibbs International is a bit of a guru on all things BSA. Might be worth an email to him. He might advise you what its worth.
