Alycidon
Not to thick and heavy. Nightforce NP2DD is nice, very fine center dot, in a beam it shows up well, while it can be illuminated I rarely use the feature. All my other scopes have a light plex reticule. Would not recommend a multi dot or line reticule, usually the first line is at 4MOA at quite a high mag, thats around 300 yards depending on caliber/velocity. Not often its viable to take on a fox at that distance. Something with a mag of 6x tp maybe 12x will be fine, 7x - 8x will give you a wide field of view and fast target aquistion.
