SHOOTEMUP
This morning I took my granddaughter to the local church to place a cross on my dads grave then we went to the lichgate where the role of honour is and I showed her all the names of those killed in the first world war and then those killed in the second world war to which she had a moment of silence and said " As the first world war was so bad granddad why did they do it again"!! well that really threw me had to think so I just said because they didn't learn the first time I was really stuck for words for once and admit it really made me think, by the way she is seven bless her and it is good that as its a semi rural school they have been covering the first world war and the sea of poppies at the tower in London so she was quite clued up about it. Yes I agree with you but I thank that youngsters are in some way protected from the horror stories that I certainly heard when I was young
