Dexter.1
Well it's arrived and after my post about national databases it seems that Cheshire FLO have been working really hard to speed things up. I've got to say hats off to them because the whole process was nowhere near as tortuous as I'd thought it might have been and only 4 weeks from the application date, I'm very happy. Off to do some shopping this week!! :(
simonp
Excellent Dexter, congrats..... Tis a ****** as I had my FEO around before you and I've still not got it I don't suppose its worth hassling the ******* at Martlsham tho.... They'll just delay mine more probably, LOL. What are you're thoughts on gun ? I'd be interested (as a fellow new to SGC) to find out.... I'm still considering an SP sporter 30" m/c, and also the white onyx (same spec) after shooting with pins last friday (thanks chap). However, I've still got a sweet spot for the 682 gold E that I "handled" at the local RFDs...... hmmmmmm I've already made the decision to have it fitted ASAP once the lesson and a try gun session is done though, so now its down to me. Andy W
Congratulations, enjoy and buy sensibly and preferably not the first gun you see, try as many as you can.

Dexter.1
Thanks fellas, On the gun front I have to say that I'm taken by Beretta, I'm thinking a field gun as I'll not only be doing clays, I've found a local farmer who needs some help with his pigeons, we were supposed to meet yesterday but we got rained off. I had a look at 687 SPs, but really do like the sideplated versions. I know people have told me the mechanics are the same etc and some would say you're just buying bling but hey you only live once. I've seen a secondhand one 28" FC - still more expensive than a new SP3 mind you, so nothing definate yet.
Tony9r
Pleased for ya Dexter ... we all know how it feels waiting for that brown envelope to drop through the door - mine took 8 weeks from application! :( As for buying your first shotty, I paid £100 for my second hand acciaio Breda o/u and cannot fault it... shoots as well as anybody elses
