Mentalmac
Hi All, Saturday just gone saw me heading to Norfolk to the Christmas clay shoot organised by Hitclays (Alan) - he certainly puts on a good day, and always provides a good laugh or two during the day. I wanted to go as I enjoy the flushes Alan puts on, but also doing a 100 bird sporting and a DTL all in one day with some friends (Jim and Jimmy - aka Blunderbuss and Wharfrat). This made for some good entertainment throughout the day as us 3 went around the stands together with our official scorer (my wife) and then followed on to the pub thereafter. I don't often get to go clay shooting now days, but with enough cartridges saved up from previous outings and with the small amount of money Alan charges for these days, it was a go-er. The 100 bird sporting was good fun, the wind made for some interesting times ahead, with targets frequently changing between shots which made it good fun and more exciting. I did my typical clay shooting thing and ended up doing great on some harder stands, and missing some blindingly easier ones... I only ended up with 60/100 which wasn't great, but I certainly had an excellent time and cursed at myself after for letting my scores down on the easy ones I missed knowing after what I did to miss too! - alas, always learning. I candidly took some film of Jim and Jimmy and used the new slow-motion feature on the new iPhone to create the below video's - a clever contraption that is.
