Description

Something a little different.

If you can’t afford a Purdey and don’t like Spanish, have a look at this Czech Brno Sidelock.

These eastern guns are always robust and well engineered, particularly in the barrels but are usually let down by the utilitarian styling. This one is prettier than most with nice graining to the 14.25” stock which features a white slip twixt stock and butt (easy to fit a recoil insert to increase length) popular on Czech and Russian guns. What sets this one apart is the engraving to the matt black action. Usually they are plain or polished, this one sports a mallard in flight on the left and a pheasant on the right. I doubt if it’s to remind you which choke to use for different targets, but you never know!

I have recently found 2 x ZP49's new in the box.  AU$1,800 each - have tried them on driven pheasant.

At present they area little tight in the chokes but with some gunsmithing to get them from Imp Modified/Extra Full  back to 1/4 and 1/2 choke, I am sure they will be great field guns and I will never be able to wear them out
