Glenlivet
Anyone any idea why Mullers are only available in steel for Beretta Optimas? Is this something to do with the problems they've had with chokes splitting possibly?
TONY R
Anyone any idea why Mullers are only available in steel for Beretta Optimas? Is this something to do with the problems they've had with chokes splitting possibly? Berettas are notoriously bad for choke thread iregularity of construction, The muller as with some wildfowl turkey and predator chokes need the tight suport of the barrel to maintain the chokes intgrity in use, if the barrel is out of spec in these circumstances the chokes can be damaged they can bulge or split. No doubt muller decided due to the poor tollerances of Berettas Barrels and high frequencey of spliting in his chokes in these out of spec barrels hes decided to just offer them in steel, SRM terror did the same for Beretta at one time, but the curent producer of terror as decided to offer them again apparently. Guest stevo
I had a U3 split in my CG summit. My mate had the very same thing happen in his summit too. If I was to ever buy some more I would want them in steel. That said they throw brilliant patterns.

Not sure I subscribe to the 'all Berettas are ****' theory, Muller offer Mobil, Optima plus and Optima HP as standard. Only the Optima are excluded which prompted me to ask the question. TONY R
They are the thinnest. Optima HP are 20 grammes heavier. True and they are notorious for poor choke thread tolerances they can be considerable out of spec to such an extent its hard to make chokes that fit tight in all barrels from Beretta, benelli have the same basic mobil tubes but have less issues as specs are more uniform. Im not saying all berettas are **** at all just saying they are wild in sizes this aspect is not debatable its if you measure diferent guns you see it clearly if SRM and others issues with them is not enough evidence in its self. .
