hankook1
Hi all, having problems setting the wad rammer tube height for loading 3" hulls with 36gm of #3 steel shot do anyone have advice on how to do this please the loader is a mec 600 jr mk5, I know you undo the allen screw to move it up and down and there are marks on the tube but cant find a reference to what mark to set it to bearing in mind I want to load steel with steel shot plastic wads, how do I know if its being pushed down far enough! Guest cookoff013
i use an upturned steel 32g wad to do the seating. it sacrifices one wad over a loading sequence (100), but i use the settings as is. if you give it about 10-20lbs of pressure (aka alittle nudge) that is all is needed. i have just finished a whole series of 3" loadings and i practically used an upturned 32g steel wad for all the "rammings" (fibre and plastic steelwads / plastic target wads (yes target wads in a 3"), steel, tungsten and copper, niceshot and bismuth, lead, and the fabled itx) let me know how this pans out, i found this the "no nonsense aproach" you cant be fiddling with the rammer for a 3" load.
