Aero Update - Much Better

I took Aero to the feild where he ran off a few weeks back. He has now been on the long lead for nearly 3 weeks. The grass in the feild goes from short, to knee height to up to my shoulders.

 

1. Aero loved it

2. I was loving watching him loving it.

 

We worked as per NTTF's instructions, doind a Zig Zag along a centre line, he was good, not perfect, but good. I was using 2 pips on the whistle to bring him back to me, then keeping him on a short lead for a while with the "get in" command.

 

Of course every now and again I would give the here command and then 1 pip on the whistle to get him to sit.

 

We done a lap of the top half of the feild. Something just felt right at this point. I gave him a pat, told him "Dont let me down" and let him off the lead.

 

My heart sank, he ran off. I gave 4 sets of 2 pips. All of a sudden he appeared. he sat next to me without being told. I could have cried I was that happy. I kept him of off the lead for another 5 mins working a Zig Zag. He never went past the point of the length of the long lead, he always came back on 2 pips. He always came back to the "here command"

 

I then put him back on the long lead and we spent another 5 mins Zig Zaggin.

 

NTTF, if you were a women I would come to Canada and marry you. I know we are nowhere near from finishing, but I see a glimmer of light.
