Eddiethegun
Hi, new to reloading .223 ammo, I loaded up a batch of 10 to try and the next day they have a tarnished finish on the brass and on the bullet head. Could this be the lube paste not being cleaned off ? if so what do you lads clean the bullets with after loading ? Eddie
AndyCM
How does lube paste (of any other stuff) get on the bullet heads? How do you prepare the brass before priming, powder filling and seating the bullet ? Cheers AndyCM
mry716
Clean your cases twice. Once before you size to save your dies getting scratched and then after to remove the lube. I wash mine dry them in the airing cupboard then tumble overnight. Blow them clean with the airline and pack in seal strip Poly bags. For all operations when cases are clean i use thin cotton gloves to ensure no natural grease is transfered from my hands. Surgical gloves are not so good as they 'stick' and make your hands sweat. Eddiethegun
The lube paste must have got onto the heads as I seated them in the dies ? don't know, off my hands *** ? might not be that only know they have a slight tarnish on them. They shoot OK tried them today at 100 and 160 yards. Thanks for the tips I'll try cleaning them better. Eddie
