Discovery door lock problems.

In some other threads Iv reported problems with my disco lock, and remote central locking..

 

Top and tail of it. Sick of central locking going wrong despite new receivers. And new keys and codes.

So decided to just use the key. 6 week ago I found out that didn't work either. Key went in the lock but didn't do anything. So ordered a her handle and lock from Land Rover made to fit my existing key from the vin number.there made in France so it's taken 6 week but it came yesterday. Fit it today and the ******* thing didn't work, so took it all off again and had a look to see if I could work out what was going on, when the key went in the lock it wouldn't turn as there was something stopping it. So I pressed this down with my finger and then it turned. Took key out and tried again. Same thing key wouldn't turn. So looked at my old one and it's was the same. So I was stumped to say the least. Now I did notice that the key seemed to go in as far as possible but then under l little force when I pressed the thing down on the barrel the key went in a further 2 mm.

 

I hope you can see what bit I mean on the photos. Photos are obviously of my old lock. But new one just the same.
