Nick_MSM
I have a matching pair of pencil signed and numbered etchings by Henry Wilkinson, both are nicely mounted and framed. Wilkinson One (woodcock) - Plate size 10.0 x 13.7 inches, framed 19.5 x 22.0" Wilkinson Two - Plate size 8.9 x 12.9 inches, framed 19.5 x 21.5" Original framing appears to be 1970s by Fred Keetch Limited then of Taunton and Exeter. £90 each posted, or £165 the pair. Born in 1921 Henry Wilkinson studied at leading academies and became a highly thought of engraver. He became Professor of engraving at the City and Guilds of London and a council member of the Royal Society of Etchers. For many years he worked with George Vernon Stokes, the famous canine artist, helping him produce his prints. After Stoke's death in 1954 Wilkinson began to produce his own etchings of dogs and sporting subjects most of which were marketed by the publishers H.C.Dickens. I also have a 1950s watercolour and pencil drawing of a spaniel by Dorothy Josephine Coke, RWS, measures 14.5 x 17 inches in its frame. £150 delivered. Her work makes a lot more in London, and I am quite happy to take an offer.
