Gun Watch Posted March 10, 2019 Report Share Posted March 10, 2019 Chas bowerman Chas bowerman prototype £2,000 12 gauge Shotgun Private Seller Used - Very Good Condition Barnoldswick, Lancashire Side by Side, Cylinder, Full Choke, 28" barrels Description For sale is what is believed to be a one off production prototype manufactured by chas bowerman ltd. believed to of been manufactured between 1927-1931. The serial number is 0107. The action flats are stamped “ the new departure”. The barrels at some point been lapped out and had the chambers lengthened and reproved to 2 3/4 chambers. As a result there is no pitting within the bores but there remains some small pits at the ends of the chambers but i believe they must of been present during reproofing. Barrels are very tight on the face and forend is tight with no play. Wood work is nice and action retains all colour hardening. The front trigger is an automatic safety which reapplies every time the gun is broken, to disengage the safety the front trigger is pushed forward then, the middle and rear triggers can be used to fire the right and left barrels.
