French birding

Hi all, some of my family have recently moved down to Grasse in Alpes Maritimes area of southern France. I'm wondering whether anyone knows about how they tend to 'wing shoot' down there. I'm aware of wild boar and stalking going on in the local area, managed by some kind of license allocation within defined hunting areas method on I presume public land. But I've no idea of what sort of bird hunting goes on there, and as a pigeon shooter I'd be really interested to know if there's any woody action going on there. You do see wood pigeon down there, and doves, though not large populations due to little arable land there for anything other than olives and grapes (I guess).

Does anybody know much about hunting down there? I must brush up on my language skills and find a local hunting shop there.
