My Father has been shooting a Browning BPS pump for years- Top mounted Safety and it throws the hulls at you feet. Good for reloaders. The saftey is the little bump on the top / tang of the gun
vole
Thanks Bman.It is probably me expecting a semi auto to be just the same as the o/u I learnt with.My local dealer has Mossbergs in which I might add to the arsenal one day but no sign of the Browning, maybe not sold here.It appears a step up in quality from the Mossbergs?Looks a good gun with the safety in just the right place too.Would be very pleased with one,no mistake. bman
The Browning is high qualtiy- made in Japan. Mossberg is made in America and not nearly the quality.. stamped steel and have always felt rough to me. I'm surprised that they are not available in Brittan... Evil Elvis
I have a browning silver and the safety is built into the trigger guard, easily accessible and very easy to use.

Wookie
My Urika 2 has an ambidextrous safety (manual too) built into the action just in front of the trigger. Very easy to put on and off with the trigger hand and a nice positive click. But, what would you expect from Beretta?
vole
I just got used to a thumb operated safety.Seems a good visible spot to have one but if 99% of auto loading 12g have a cross trigger one then its something I will have to get used to.Will keep an eye open though. Thanks for the posts!
