Gun Watch Posted October 4, 2021 Report Share Posted October 4, 2021 Stevens Model 79 £250 12 gauge Shotgun Private Seller Used - Very Good Condition Hitchin, Hertfordshire Pump Action, -, -, 28" barrels Description Stevens Model 79 12G 3" Pump Action 28" Barrel 2 3/4" & 3" Chamber 2+1 SGC Shotgun Believed to date from 1981 in which case a lovely gun for its age with a nice clean barrel Barrel has raised vented rib with bead foresight Marked for 4 Ton per square inch Simple engraving on both the receiver and the bolt depicting a nice pheasant hunting schene with bolt closed Action and magazine etc functions properly as it should Easy take-down with one finger operated screw Wooden furniture is in very good condition but obviously shows some signs if wear and use If I were keeping this gun I would be stripping it right down and giving it a thorough clean but it is in good condition generally and relatively clean as-is Equally a usable clay/game/field gun or something to collect with vintage guns appreciating in value I am only selling this gun as I also have a Savage 30 which I sold and bought back and I wanted to compare the operation of the Model 79 & 30 side by side - they are substantially similar Stock Length is an estimate please request further details Section 2 Shotgun Certificate required Collection in person from Herts/Beds Border near hitchin (A1/M1 J10/J12) [OR] RFD Transfer - charges apply I would also be happy to meet at a reasonably close clay ground to demonstrate the gun on a sale or return basis S2SGC Certificate required Please note I spend a lot of time on the phone for my job so email will often get me quicker This gun is being sold by Pigeon Watch member Downforce.
