magman
Amber for me everyone uses red at the moment so a bit different with plenty of light
sandersj89
Amber, more light. If I can get away with it then no filter at all. Normally fine for cubs but not older foxes. The more light the better from the shooters point of view. Jerry
kip270
I find the Red filter to be great. It does throw you abit though because you think it is not bright enough, but when you spot a Fox the shine from it's eye's cannot be mistaken for anything else. I spot them(when they are there) well over 400yards, and start calling or stalk into a good vantage point
codling99
allways use a red filter for rabbits and fox, have tried green ,but looks a bit strange, but does work on foxes and rabbits that are over lamped with white light and red filters, seems to confuse them a bit i think.aint tried amber yet ,but will when i get chance . tulkyuk
we were out yesterday and we shot four foxes using a red filter We tend to use red more than any other, we have tried amber ( works well, but better on stubble fields) and have also used green ( can see quite well with this and as someone else said it tends to confuse over lamped foxes). Dean k
I have been shooting foxes for over 10 years and have never used a filter. Looking at the the ones shot they are from a range of ages and not had a problem with the white light yet. Red for rabbits is great, however this info was not asked for Dean K
lazza
I'd go for amber. The red filter takes too much of the light out, especially against a dark background, you may end up looking at eyes. Also , the lamper needs to be able to see the fox and they won't have the benefit of a scope to look through. Saying all that, the red lamp is good at close range. Another option is green, I found it OK , but some people struggle with it.
