Ferretboy111
Released my pheasants ages ago- july 16th or something, the birds are looking absolutely fabulous- <Manchurians, melanistics, french commons and 1st crossed americans.> Just wanted to say that ive been keeping a watchful eye on my pheasants everyday, but ive never ever gone first light to watch them. I decided yesterday to get out of my bed for first light and take a drive around my covers/woods etc. Only thankfully to reassure myself that there are pheasants everywhere. Now to all those part time keepers etc out there who havent as yet got up at first light to check their pheasants, do so it certainly put my mind at ease. Think it was 6.45 or so i went out. Just thought id share my thought. Happy keeping. Alex

Suffolk shooter
Don't Stress FB11 they'll still be there for Beaters day. We're walking round with Mufflers on the end of boots and sticks to ensure there's plenty. Anymore probs with those two you found on Duck's Eye SS

I was taught that a keeper (full time/part time, doesn't make any difference) should ALWAYS be up when his Pheasants arise (i.e. first light), otherwise how will you know where they are heading when they leave the pen area, and how can you ensure they are heading in the correct direction (i.e. The covers). I know I certainly am, every day.
