My 10 month old Lab surprised me yesterday, I chucked a bit of cardboard tubing the size of a egg into the middle of a dense cover crop and I said to my mate "he wont find it" as I said this, he flushed out a couple of Roe deer and then I said he will "definatly not find it now that he has been distracted" but to my surprise he carried on looking for it and came out with it and gave it to me. After he gave me it I know that might be another Roe deer in their so I sat him down by my side and said to him "get on", he started criss crossing in the cover crop then he most of got a scent cause he suddenly went straight to the corner, then I saw the third one run out but he did not chase it anyfurther.

Now this is the first time in this condition he has done this and this has gave me more motivation to train him even more to go and flush some game out.

But at the moment I am trying to keep him calm when he see other dogs and people especially other dogs as he seems to get use to people but dogs he wont. Has anybody got any tips for this as everytime I take him down town everyone stops him and makes a fuss of him making him a bit of an attention seeker when out in the field, as he also cries when he is doing nothing in the field again any tips would be greatly appreciated
