Another Techie Question

Morning all,

I have recently bought a couple of new phones to replace my **** old BT cordless things. However, now, when I have the broadband line active and the phone rings, when I answer it all I get is static. The caller can't hear me, and I can't hear them. My only option then is to whip the usb modem cable thingy out of the back of the laptop, have the conversation, then plug it back in and reconnect to Freeserve. Can anyone help? I haven't messed around with any broadband filters or anything - just done a straight swap.

Ta Muchly

Thanks very much will give it a try. Any idea what I need to buy? (And yes I live in West Yorks, my mum still has a mangle, people still point at aeroplanes etc etc... :good:

You need to buy an ADSL filter for each BT socket you have in your home that has a phone plugged into it.
