A 12b side by side boxlock non ejector Cira between 1875 and 1898 one of the first Anson & Deeley Actions (Patent 1875) Lapthorne went out of business in 1898. 30" 2 1/2" chamber Damascus barrels, open chokes, (Marked not for ball) Bores bright with no pitting, has been re proofed, Deeley (Patent) forend splinter type. Browning good with well patterned twist, Makers name and address, S.J. Lapthorne, 30 St Giles Street Norwich. Action bright and perfusley engraved with rose and scroll, with banner S J Lapthorne. Wood, nice English walnut with Tiger stripe or fiddle back grain , deep honey colour with a English silver, shield. Cased, period leather case, rich patina reddish brown colour, brick red lining (not the original case) in fair condition, I do have with it, a very rare and original Black and Gold Trade Label (Card) (would sell this separately)£210.00 (email me). This gun has has been a sleeper for many years and has been well looked after. Only paper cartridges 65mm have been used.
