The Shootist
Hi, Can anyone recommend a good cleaning kit or cleaning products for a .22 air rifle?? Thanks, sjk Napier Airgun Pull Through Kit works well if you want a ready made cleaning kit. Just under 20 quid. Don't be tempted by cleaning rods they can damage a barrels crown. Only use a pull through. Alternately make your own. Get a length of strimmer cord and melt one end into a disc small enough to still go through the bore. Thread a bit of patch material down the cord (sharpen the other end to pierce the patch) and the disc will stop it coming off the end. Pull through a few patches till they come out clean and a few drops of 3 in 1 oil on the last patch before the guns put away to stop corrosion. If a barrels really dirty the first patch or two can be dipped in white spirit to aid cleaning then switch to dry patches.
