shootingmagpie
I have a 16 month old cocker bitch and 17 month old springer bitch. The springer is retrieving grand. The cocker wont pick anything up she will sniff them out and stand beside them but wont pick them up. Anyone any ideas on how to get her to pick them up? Also she wants to eat the birds anyone any ideas?

gdunc
Does she pick up dummies without a problem? If so, does she bite on them? If she picks up dummies ok then you'll need to take more time introducing her to birds. You can attach a pheasant wing to a dummy or try a pigeon in tights to get her started and gradually work on from there. Is this a new thing or have you only just introduced birds? shootingmagpie
She's only just been introduced since the shooting season started in September. She knows what she is to do as there is no problems with her finding them she just stands behind them. Haven't tried attaching feathers to a dummy so will give it a go and see if it works cheers!! Will let you know how she gets on
