wy111
Got one as a back up, but just noticed the difference between my Archer and Crusader. With the latter two, power has to be on, to be able to see anything. With the Bresser (Lidles), no power on, even batteries removed and can still use it(Obviously, not the IR), seems to make no difference with power on/ power off/batteries out. Is this something to do with being Gen1 as the other two are 3 and 2 respectively. Any info would be gratefully recieved, not just from me, but to others as well who have just bought them. What worries me is that if the lens cap is misplaced, the tube could be damaged.

Must be some residual energy in it.

OneEye
Gen 1 tubes, when charged, retain power for a while after being switched off, and can still be damaged by bright light during that time. You can't entirely trust the lens cap - pop it in a case when you're done and that should do the trick.
