the last engineer Posted January 18, 2008 Report Share Posted January 18, 2008 you need to have the bores measured, if you know somebody in a machine shop or have a local smith around they will have the nessasary bores gauges to do so, they will check the main bore all the way down to the choke restriction at the muzzle, the difference in restriction tells you the ammount of choke in each barrel Standard 10 10 12 12 16 16 20 20 28 28 410 410 Maximum and Minimum Inches Min In. (ANS Z299.2) .775 .795 .725 .745 .665 .685 .615 .635 .545 .565 .410 .430 England (1954) .751 .802 .710 .750 .637 .676 .596 .636 .543 .562 .405 .416 each choke restriction is measured bya reduction in muzzle diameter in increments of .005" starting at open or cylinder in the UK as a general guide you have cyl, 1/4 1/2 3/4 and full these are in .01" increments, you can find a number of inbetween chokes to suit what ever your pleasure over here we run, cyl, imp cyl, modified and full all .01" with again a number of inbetweenies eg skeet, imp mod, light mod, light full, and so on hope it didnt bore (skuse pun) you Martin p.s. excuse the miss alignment, i didnt set the site up, it looked good when i did it.
