the last engineer Posted January 28, 2008 Report Share Posted January 28, 2008 so, i hear all the moans and groans of rain and cold, from what i gather the UK is going through an exceptionaly wet time, especialy around glouster again, theres a suprise, "flooding", how did that happen?? :unsure: so just to cheer you up i thought id tell you the temps here, we are now going through an ice age, smacks of the movie " day after toomorrow" brrrr standing temp is now minus 31/32 degrees C, windchilllllllllllllllllll is down to minus 47c to 57c, the motor didnt want to start, god praise command starts , snow has been blown up side the house with drifts of around 5ft deep in places, the roads are a disaster, plowing through the snow ruts around 8"-12" unless you have clearance you aint going nowhere, i have a rental at the moment whilst mine is in for service, 4x4 dodge truck, some muppet stuck a 5.7 litre Hemi engine in it and put sport tyres on it, greta in the summer when your ripping up Mustangs off the lights,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, it aint summer at the moment, so off went me and the mrs to work, she wont drive in this ****, dont blame her either, saves me digging her out of the ditch later, roads are a nightmare driffting snow straight back where the plow just went and still you have the "i'm bullet proof" maniac belting down the road passing everything in sight, regardless of which direction he/she is pointing, comical when you see them 1/2 mile down in a ditch waving for ***-istance, naff off is the most common reply, freeze you jackass, looks to be a little chilly for the next 3-4 days, so you enjoy the rain at least the shot comes out the end of your barrels,,,,,,,,,, all of them roll on spring so noral temps of minus 3-4c are back, get the shorts and t-shirts back out happy days. At least i'll look cool with my tan ey! not to happy with people down there mate, my brothers in east balmain, sydney, he find it mildly amusing to phone and gloat it warmed up a little today now standing at minus 37c windchill up to minus 40/42, other than illing all the bugs it has no possible atribute to offer me, having spent xmas in Cuba it is a far cry, i question my sanity,,,,,,,,,,,, (actualy i do that a little more often than most of late),,,,,,,,,,, as to why i moved here in the first place Martin Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I don't mind winter as it just gives you spring to look forward to but at least you can walk to the local shop without hypothermia in England.
