Hi all I'm fairly new too the shooting world and I have very kindly been given a Winchester 1400 for clay shooting.

I found the gun a nice looking gun but for some reason i'm finding it hard too cock. I'm finding i'm having too pull the working parts back as quickly as posible and with all my might, is this common with winchester 1400 or is the gun faulty or could it be all about technique. If anybody else has had the problem i would be so gratfull too find out how you solved it.

I would be gratfull for any suggestion many thanks Ginge

If you want rid of it mate let me know I've got a winch 1200 and would like a 1400 to go with it. I have an OU I'd consider doing a deal with, not a clay gun though its a game gun.

I'm also about 15 mins from you!

Re your question, your gun internals are basically the same as mine, they shouldn't be hard to pull back as I expect you know so yes there is a fault, the guns are quite simple to work on though, It sounds like somethings binding.

Let me know if your interested in getting rid, or if you need any help.
