ShaggyRS6
Following on from this thread and my post in it http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...showtopic=51963 (I did not want to Hijack it) I have been onto Tony Price (Well known Spaniel and Lab Trainer) of off whom I got Aero last year. He has agreed to train him for me and he thinks anywhere between 4 and 6 weeks. He is also going to work on the other areas of concern like the fact he wont get in a car and other little bits. Aero goes away on the 1st March and it will break my heart, having said that I think I am sure I am doing the right thing for both of us, but more importantly for Aero. Spaniel
Hi What is Tony hoping to achieve for you within this 4 to 6 week period, as he set any targets etc Just interested in seeing what a professional like Tony hope to establish Cheers Ian
ShaggyRS6
Dunno yet. I spoke to Gene his wife and she got him booked in. When I get down there in a couple of weeks Tony will go through what he will be doing. Whatever he does, he will be doing it 200% better than me. Will keep you informed. Spaniel
It isnt easy this Gun dog training...I thought i was doing well with my 2yr old springer, until i took her out last saturday and all of a sudden got some scent and off she went. Now she is back on the lead, walking to heel and Sit to whistle commands as we walk around the streets.... Some times it feel like i am going back over stuff, but im determined to get her solid at heel and to whistle and also working on her looking at me more...so no comps. this year at present will wait until 2009 Keep me updated on how your training goes etc. Cheers Ian
gav
not interupting but have you looked at " the gundog club" website they hold training sessions in kent . sometimes one to one or group . these might be of help to you and the dog . i spend 10 mins a day with my 3 spaniels . with 2 it seems to click but the 3rd one it takes ages to get things in her head . i take notes of things as she is at a different training stage to her litter sister .
