Guest stiv24
I have been offered the chance to join a syndicate for next season. It's a fairly formal day with 14 guns - 7 per team - where they shoot 9 main days and 3 or 4 boundary days throughout the season. In addition there is also pigeons, crows, foxes and rabbits to be controlled. There are 6 drives on the day and the format is shoot one beat one. There isn't a full time keeper and all the syndicate members are expected to pull their weight with work parties, feeding, doggin in etc. They put down around 1500 birds and the land is well suited to shooting hills, valleys, woods etc The two syndicates I am already in are quite informal and cost around £350 per season and they get bags between 15 and 60. The new syndicate would cost £850 and I'm told to expect bags around 60 to 80, the lowest return over the last 3 years has been 30% with the highest 48%. Does £850 sound about right to you? WGD
Does this include any land rental? WGD Edited February 20, 2008 by wgd
Guest stiv24
This cost includes land rental. I have been to look at the ground today and there are some great woods with pigeons everywhere. The more I think about it the better the offer sounds
wy111
The price should include evrything, but be prepared to put some work in on "party days". It is well appreciated. It seems a fair price for upto 60 bird days.
WGD
For that number of birds and an element of land rental included that seems good value mate, I would go for it WGD
bob300w
That's about the cost of one decent payday, it's a bargain, go for it. If you don't pull your weight on the work parties, you won't be back next year though!
