markbivvy
had a call from a farmer this morning saying they was foxes in the hay bales. got there about 1pm and the farmer asked me to take the dog round the back of the bales as he was going to moves some of them with the tractor. me, rifle, and ollie, had just got into place when 2 foxes make a run for it fox number 1 staight into ollies mouth, now this is the first full live adult he has come across and he did not let me down set about it with a vengace nowt for me to do but look at the one legging it down the field. At about 200 yds down the field the fox could have gone left or right if it went left it would still be alive ,but it went right into a thin line of trees. I grabbed the rifle and run up a pile of road scelpings stopped just before the top and laid down, ollie is still giving mrs fox what for. just flicked the scope cover up when mr fox walks out of the tree,s and stands looking at where his mrs is getting it. 50 grns of blitzkings near cut him in half. i turns to ollie who was just ragging a dead vixen. last thing i wanted for him just now as he is still a bit to young, but the lad did well. full chech up followed and not a bite mark to be found on him.
