tartinjock
I was out with my CZ Style last night for the first time (it has a nickle barrel) not that I know what difference that will make, I like the look, anyway....It was the first time out with it ever, brand new, zeroed in at 60m and off we went, in total last night, we fired 75 rounds of subs, this morning when I was cleaning my .243 I had a look through the barrel of the CZ, MINGING, thats all I can say......Couldn't believe it. I cleaned it, I am a military bloke also, like many others on here, I just couldn't leave it the way it was. I have asked the same question as this thread has and many said "Don't clean it". Sorry, couldn't help it, could hardly see the other end of the bore it was that MINGING. I will probably clean it after every use, just for info, the only cleaning I did was to pull a piece of flanel through the barrel a couple of times, I didn't oil the barrel, dry clean only. :(
nicholiath
I was looking on a Ruger website and this bloke cleaned his barrel after every 500 rounds, with a boresnake. However he has removed the bronze brush part of the pull through. He explained removing it like the old chinese finger puzzle in that he concertinered the bore snake either side of the bronze brush and progressively backed it out of the material. I suspect removal of the bronze brush imparts less wear on the bore.
