Scot The Sniper Posted April 8, 2008 Report Share Posted April 8, 2008 having a problem here need help with my T8. i have had this t8 on my sako .22/250 rifle for some time now turned out i should of been taking mod of the rifle but anyway it gathered condensation and pitted the crown of my .22/250 unknown to me after lots and lots of reloads and getting no groups we finaly found the problem ok handed gun of for repair to local gunsmith he chopped of the threads re threaded it with longer thread and new crown great works fine until u fire four or 5 rounds thro it then the sound moderator comes slack and before u say have u tightend it up enough yes many times and it still comes slack after about 4 -6 rounds and it never done this before has anyone on here had this problem if so how did u fix it help plz Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Browning Posted April 8, 2008 Report Share Posted April 8, 2008 It sounds like the thread has been cut badly Scot. Did the mod ever come loose with the original thread? Also, check the shoulder behind the thread, does it look as though it's been cut square to the thread? This is quite important as the mod should tighten up against this shoulder. One final thing you could check, did the gunsmith bore out the Delrin bush on the mod after he re-cut the thread? It could be that the barrel taper is larger now so the Delrin bush is gripping the barrel rather than the thread butting up to the shoulder.
