harpo_the_bad
Ladies and gentlemen, I have a Barnet Rhino Quad Compound limb Crossbow for sale. Now I would prefer a local sale. But if you're willing to travel to Norfolk then that would be fine. The bow has a draw weight of 150 lbs. It has a polymer stock in green/black camouflage. It doesn't have a scope but it does have an adjustable rear crosshair and an adjustable brass front sight. The rear sight has a dial to compensate for range... personally I just set it for ~30 yards and compensated myself. But the feature is there if you like that kind of thing! It's the model from around two years ago with the monte carlo stock (it looks more like a standard rifle/shotgun stock compared to the new model) The bow is in as new condition. I bought it and probably fired it 20-30 times before figuring out that I actually prefer my air rifle and 12 gauge. The only damage is the front grip (which screws on to the body). It still works fine... it's just a grip after all... but it does have a crack in it. I think this was probably there when I bought it... if not, I have no idea how it happened as the bow has hardly been taken off my wall since new! It doesn't have a quiver but it comes with some camouflage bolts (three I think - I'll check when I get home). I also have a large round crossbow target made of woven straw. You will probably need something like this because of the bow's power. Normal archery targets won't stop crossbow bolts from a 150 lb bow. I'll warn you that the target is BIG and HEAVY and is therefore collection only as I don't have a 4x4 or anything at the moment and I'm far too lazy to carry something that heavy to your house damnit! I bought the bow for £300 and the target for £120 about two years ago. Combined cost to me of £420. To you guys, because I love you so much: £200 for the bow and £50 for the target. £240 for the pair! Any offers? I can get some pictures if anyone is interested. harpo_the_bad
Here you go! It's hard to see because it's covered by the grass but the bow does actually have a footclaw on the front to aid cocking. Also, it's pictured without the front grip as this is the way that I have been using it. The front grip is included in the sale though. Also, I checked and there are three camouflage bolts (arrows designed for a crossbow) which I'm throwing in too. If I remember correctly they cost me something like 3-4 quid each when I bought them. Ice
Do you need a license or anything to own something like that? Looks wicked, i would be interested if only you were closer, can it be used for anything else appart from target shooting, might sound like a daft question that, but id imagen 150lb is one hell of a force
harpo_the_bad
Hello Ice, No licence is required. The UK government seems to think that crossbows are mere toys You're right though, they pack one hell of a whallop! Sadly though, the UK government also don't see crossbows as fit for hunting. It's crazy... in America they use these things to hunt deer, crocodiles... god knows what else. Bearing in mind that it's illegal to hunt with a crossbow in the UK, would you still be interested? I could be persuaded to ship it to you if you pay for P&P on top of the price. Cheque is prefered. I'll find out how much it'd be with postage if you do still want it. I'd also have to see what the royal mail's stance is on sending stuff like this... anyone know? Shane PS: Regarding the target, I could see how much postage would be on that but I have a feeling it may make more sense for you to buy one yourself as it weighs an absolute ton!
