mosa
This may have been covered before but i thought i would put a review on anyway to help anyone decide on a new scope. I bought a Swarovski 6x42 Habicht PF Rifle Scope fixed mag reticle 4a to go onto my Tikka .223 and was really wondering do you really need to pay this much for a scope (and i suppose you dont but i got one anyway). I went out for the 1st time foxing with it last night and was astounded by its performance in low light. In fact in near dark. Ive heard about buying a bigger objective to collect all the available light but not so in this case with only being 42. Only saw 2 foxes but wasnt comfortable with the shot so they got past me this time. Anyway thats it i suppose very happy with my purchase and would recomend one to anyone
JohnGalway
The only reason you'd need a bigger objective is to do with the magnification. 6x42 is optimal for that fixed magnification, as would be 7x50, 8x56 and so forth. So you're collecting all the available light already You do get what you pay for (usually) so unfortunately better glass means more coin. Glad you're happy with your purchase though
