biakalblaster Posted July 4, 2008 Report Share Posted July 4, 2008 Went out to a trout fishery, where i know the owner also has a field of kale that pigeons like. we went over and saw 50 take off, so i left the rod in the car. set up hide near a fence, but 15m into field and put out 12 static decoys. Shot 6, but they werent coming in that close and were spooking at last minute, i moved hide by fence, and replaced some deeks with real pigeons. in end got for me a fantastic 25 in the bag, i couldnt find another 2, and know i hit 3 others that flew off. all for 50 shells fired. I only shot for 2 hours, the pigeons came in every 4-5 mins, then there were the ******* i missed, when i turned to get a drink of water and 2 times i snagged the bleeding gun barrel on the hide net...GGRRRR think it will be a long time before i repeat this, everything just clicked, for once i didnt think or have time to think about aiming!! i just hit them, used a 1/4 choke too on my beretta al391 urika, loved the gun for once! just want to say thanks for peoples reports and tips on here, it helped me loads buzzing now and enjoying an ale! ps did an hour of fly fishin after, got a 1 lb rainbow on 3rd cast, then had another 3 takes but lost them a great afternboon off work Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
