DIY flapper - any one tried

Recommended Posts

I am attempting to make a spinning wings pigeon flapper decoy - like the air-pro / pro-air one

as the pigeon body is identical to the static pecking decoys i have,

so far have made an outer axle tube from copper pipe, now got a stainless steel hollow axle, and made slots in each end, so far have tried making curved wings for various plastic pots, but too much weight/friction in the system as it takes a far bit of wind to spin the wings,

so i will have to continue experimenting to reduce weight/drag different wing designs

has anyone else tried making these?

, as £50 for 2 online is a bit pricey, considering I got the 8 decoys that form the base of them, for £15 or so

so decoy body is less than £2 !

also using an old shogun back windscreen wiper motoer assembly to drive a flapping wing decoy, but its a bit slow
