anser2
Hi Bob , I attempted to PM you , but it dosent like your chat name ( tells me you should have more letters before it will send. I now have the english boxlock in my hands so have all the information. The gunmaker is Alfred Davis 4 Bishops Gate churchyard Old Broad St London ( enscrbed on the rib ). On the side action is Alfred Davis on a riband and below J Blanch & Sons London. Under the chambers is gun number 3122. The chambers are 2.5 inch & NP FOR 1 1\8OZ.. there are various marks including a crown over some marks i cannot make out , a crown - circle - crown and V. All the action , top lever and trigger guard are scrolled. I was told the gun was an ejector , but it is not , its non ejector. Have you any info on the gun or can you point me to a web site to research myself. Thanks for your interest.
