Hi, if your S400 is less than a year old, anti tamper measures have been fitted to prevent it being adjusted to fire over 12ft/lbs. If it is older, it is posible to adjust it, but its only safe to do so when done in conjunction with a chronograph. Remember if your gun is found to be over the limit, not only will you be prosicuted, but the gun will be destroyed.

Most new guns are set at around 10.5 to 10.8 to allow for the power increase as the internal parts settle in.

I occasionally shoot FT and have my S400 set at 10.5, it has plenty of power and is deadly accurate at this setting. At 40 yds it will still put a pellet through both sides of a rabbits skull, what more do you want.

If you want to improve your gun, buy a 9 shot magazine from Rowan Engineering, it makes the S400 almost as good and easy to use as an S410, but saves a lot of money.

hope this is helpfull, good luck smudger
