Si-Bore
I was out shooting with a friend early morning. I was sat right under a flighline in a harvested field of rape. My friend was 150m further up using my magnet. I have found the bouncers have been working just as well recently so I thought I'd reduce carrying weight and bulk. The birds were flying over my decoys and bouncer hardly taking any notice then spotting the magnet whizzing round further up and making a dash for it often nearly colliding with it!! Luckily for the pigeon - he is lacking in the accuracy department as he's not been shooting long. No matter what I did to the pattern and even had all dead birds out and at every angle they wouldn't pay any attention. I couldn't believe it. I decided to pack up early as I knew I wasn't destined to decoy at that spot so i walked up to see my friend (Steve). He had 6 shell pigeon decoys, all PERFECTLY facing the wind and the magnet at the back of the pattern (everything I wouldn't have done) but it worked perfectly! You learn something every day! THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
Every time you learn something new It make all the old knowledge useless. Hang in with your method, might of been one of those days the gods nipped out to the shops. Tomorrow is another day. You could allways get a magnet for yourself though. Normally I am out shooting most days and I use it then, but it was just one of those days when it worked perfectly. Staffs-Shooter
Not keen on the old magnet myself. It can sometimes have the opposite effect. That said i always have one in the motor just in case! On Saturday it was just the case; shooting on a field which was sloping down the valley & as such the birds found it hard to see the decoys till the last minute; up goes the magnet & hey presto a decent bag. gaz123
I have just recently purchased a decent magnet with air pro decoys, seems to work , but wanted to know how many decoys do you think its worth placing down along side the magnet? Si-Bore
The same as you would normally use mate. The more the better really, pigeon are flock birds and attracted to the saftey that large numbers of feeding birds provide. Si
