Baldrick
SS, you're looking at circa £22 for spare mags for a CZ, in .22 (10-shot). Maybe less if you shop around. Will you really practise that much with both subs and stingers, to discern between two zero points on a murky night, when you are shaking with excitement when confronted with a shot at a fox? No, it's unlikely. You have very little margin for error with a fox, so you need to get the bullet placement spot-on.
Salop Matt
Many thanks baldrick, understood and from what others have already said i would stick to the subs anyway, i dont intend to eat fox and if the land owner specifically gave me permision on the agreement that i foxed to i would look to get a second rifle or a accomplise who had the larger calibre rifle and experience to go with it or my shotgun ! JohnGalway
You won't be anooying anyone SS, everyone started somewhere and none of us had a gun before we were born, though the way some act.. Anyhow, shooting out of the jeep it'd be an idea to have a rest such as a window bag shootingbags.co.uk do very good ones. Otherwise I say a bipod is essential, namely a Harris Swivel either 6-9" or 9-13" in height. Edited September 8, 2008 by JohnGalway
Baldrick
SS, I just use polystyrene pipe lagging (stuck down with lots of black and nasty) on the wing mirror as a rest off which to shoot. It does the job perfectly well, although it is a bit naff. Definitely get a Harris 9-13" swivel for zeroing, and those productive summer's evenings lying up overlooking a warren. Wookie
I have a 6-9" bipod on my CZ and that's fine for me when I am prone. I can also rest the butt on a sandbag for steadier shots when sighting in if I want to and still keep it level. BRNO/CZ are good tools. you will not be let down by one. Salop Matt
When i said about the vehicle i would either get someone else to drive it once on the private property or park it up in a suitable position and open the big sunroof on top and shoot from that ! :look:
