partridge feed

Recommended Posts

feeding them on wheat, loose fed mainly round the pens and gorse bushes also still using top hat feeders but they will be coming in soon. Costs of wheat are up and down a little we got 5 ton for £500.00 which is a very good price but expect to pay upto £150 per ton.

Getting it from local farmers tends to be your best bet become a regular customer for them and they should/will look after you, our farmer even lets us store it in his barn for us

You could try and get some from last year that may lower the price a little...

I also feed Marsdens pellets.

I keep them on pellets all the way through, experience proves they do far better when kept on pellets although I suspect they pick up a bit of the pheasants wheat.

what type of marsdens pellets do you keep them on,im going on to grower soon

Grower pellets.

We have quite a high rainfall up here which trying for the birds but since I have been keeping them on pellets they have kept the weight on and are much stronger and healthier. It really is worth the extra cost.
