gdunc
Any training I do is determined by the bahaviour of the dog, the mood of the dog and also the mood i'm in. With cockers there is no set rule with regards to age it is purely dependant on the individual (they are all very much individuals!). You can get championship winners at 18months and dogs that act like pups until four years old. There is no set hard and fast training program to follow and, for example, spaniel heel training is not important and can be left 'til you've got everything else established. Dont rush and be very consistent, dont be too tough on the little dogs - better to have them as your friend than be ragging them all the time. Buy Keith Erlandson's Springer Spaniel book - he understood the dogs well.
