Axe Posted December 22, 2008 Report Share Posted December 22, 2008 Cooking a crown is no different to any other joint something like 30 minutes per pound plus for the 30 again. I always roast the bird with the pigs in blankets made with good quality chipolatas and smoked streaky bacon. This usually helps to flavour the bird whilst cooking. Rub the skin with fat/oil, cover and cook basting every half hour or so. Remove foil cover 30 mins before end and turn the oven up a little to crispen the skin.
