Place a target on a board at 10metres; get a picnic bench or something similar and make a mark where your gun will be positioned so that your roughly firing from the same place and position each time (ie make sure your lining up as near same each time) Have a mate who uses a black and decker portable work station!!

Aim for centre; make adjustments accordingly with scope until your hitting centre(ish)

put new target up and move to about 20 metres and repeat. After you consistantly hit where ure aiming try shooting from standing up/crouching etc.

Probably a better way but thats how ive done it since i was young as no ones ever told me better!

Let us not forget the breathing either.. Let out half a breath than squeeze.. I keep both my eyes open so i can maintain a visual of the target.. And the big one for air guns, at least for me, is to make sure you have the pellet that is the most accurate fired your gun.. At close range a sloppy grouping may not present itself, but if you know that you couldnt have missed at 20 yards? Then i would check the ammo.. Are you using a PCP? or a Springer?

Thats right i remember now  The springer can wreak havoc on a scope.. I do not know that you should have to worry about POI.. The only thing that would change that would be a drop in pressure, or a different pellet.. But never hurts to see if your are spot on.. :)

Hi mate,

I have just set my scope up and all I do is put a target board up at 25 or 30 yrd and aim at the same point bulls eye etc but you must make sure the gun is as steady as can be I do this by resting the butt end of the gun on a small sand bag or simular then when you fire at your target you find that your shooting low and left you need to adjust accordingly (up and right) ideally you want groups of 3 or 5 pellets inside a 30mm circle at 30 yrd then check them every few weeks.

Hope this helps

When looking through my scope (Richter Optik 3-9x40) and focasing on an object the mildot seems to dissapear. I donno if this is because the the scope or my eyesight is ****!

Any ideas?

The eye piece at the end you look through can be adjusted to focus the image, or if your scope is parralax adjustable you can try that. That would be the twisty thing at the other end with a ring of numbers around it.

Try the eyepiece first though. Little bit at a time.

Oh and you can adjust the position of the scope on the gun, slide back and forwards until all is good.
