redhawk
Hi ..... im considering taking up shooting just for targets .... I teach martial arts, do a bit of archery so just see this as an extension of those interests. I've been looking at the Gamo CSI Whisper Camo as a first rifle, selling at about £200 without a sight However im a bit bemused by all the rules and regulations on where you can shoot ... as far as I can see, about the only places you can shoot is a registered shooting club ... I can't really see myself approaching my local farmer to set up some targets on his land as he'll probably tell me where to go I also live right on the edge of the rather large lake district national park, but I kind of get the feeling shooting, there will be off limits as well, there are some woods nearby , but im not really sure who owns them, I used to play in them as a child, but as an adult im presuming someone does actually own them, and getting arrested for "Armed Tresspass" does not seem up my street where do most of you do your shooting thanks Edited January 26, 2009 by redhawk
Billy.
Have you got a back garden? If you've got a good enough backstop and you're sensible, you're fine.
redhawk
Yeah ive got a back garden but its no where near 25 meters long, more like 10 to 12 maximum .. maybe slightly longer, id probably be skulking down at the side of the house near the front to get the maximum distance .. which im sure would alarm my neighbours .... i live in a quiet suburban type area, lots of surrounding farmland and 2 woods top and to the right of where I live
smsguitarist
If you contact your local council you should be able to find out who owns the land for the woods. That way you can enquire into using the woods which would be great during the day. Lewis
