reedbradshaw
Hello all. I have a winchester 1200...i was thinking about selling them but i wouldnt mind doing a bit of stock work on it. The stock and fore-end are in generally good condition. The wood, i think, looks nice. Its just that shiney "varnish" on top really ruins it in my opinion. Im not looking for absolute perfection....after all it is a rough gun to me. Ive seen a few people use linseed oil (i may be wrong!) and it seems to make the gun a lot lighter, am i correct in saying this? I know people will say "take it to a gun smith" but id like to do it myself Id hate to ruin the checkering...how would i strip it Anyhows, heres the pictures for you all B) Would love step by step instructions on what you think i should do !
