FAC Air Rifle

Hi Guys

My first post, so please be patient.

A little about me. At present I use a .22 break barrel (quite old, as I bought it second hand at least 15 years ago) made in Hungary but with no name! It seems fairly powerful as it can accurately take down a rabbit at about 30 yards but I have no idea who makes it. I tend to use the airrifle in the garden for vermin etc and I use a 12bore for game and clays, and rabbits on friends' land. However I often have the opportunity to shoot quarry at ranges of 40 to 100 yards (safely of course) but cannot do so with my current air rifle. Some people have suggested I go the whole hog and get a rimfire but I'm not convinced it is really necessary, especially in view of how careful you have to be re:background, overshoot etc.

For some reason I would prefer either a break barrel or underlever to a CO2 as I like the independence they seem to give you, but am open to views. I also like the look of Theoben and Weihrauch guns. One thought that did occur to me was to try and get my current gun tuned up but I sense that could be a waste of time.

So, any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Junty

to attain anywhere near the upper distance you quote you will nead about 30 to 35 ftlbs.springers are only a sensible option up to about 18ftlbs.co2 will not achieve fac levels sensibly.pcps can offer a degree of independance if you use a pump instead of a tank to fill them up provided you arent lazy
