Silencer on HW77K

i've got an oldish 77k which has silencer on it - easy enough to fit - i think it has a couple of grub screws down the side - i don't know if they are currently available to buy though. I can't even look because my gun seems to have migrated round a friends where he uses it to keep the squirrels and rabbits at bay in his garden !

ring round a few places for the latest option

I have seen two types of HW77 silencer.

Type one fixes over the cocking handle/muzzle catch. It fixes on with a grub screw or two and adds 4/5 inchs onto the length of your rifle.

Type two replaces the cocking catch and looks like the one fitted two an HW97 (the newer model). Venom used to supply these.

The first type isn't that effective and adds considerable length to your rifle with little benefit, they are cheap though.

Type two improves the look of the rifle, but is more expensive and takes a little work to fit it. Not hugely effective either.

The problem with a spring rifle is most of the noise comes from the piston slamming home. You need to do some tuning to reduce this noise.

IMO, without tuning first, you will be disappointed with the benefit a silencer give you.
